It may be helpful for people to know Metro trains are running only every 30 minutes through Sunday. (15 minutes on Red line.)

And that's probably a generous estimate of delays while Metro deals with having every 7000-series train in the shop! I will be taking the ART 43 express bus from Courthouse, which also stops in Rosslyn in case anybody will be coming from there.

On Monday it wasn't that bad (riding the red line from NoMA to the Silver Line to IAD-ish only had a 5 minute wait at Metro Center, probably spent longer waiting for the Silver Line Express to leave for the airport... based on my little train status display centered on NoMA station it seemed like the red line mostly kept to (reduced) schedule with only a couple minutes deviation here or there through most of today. But definitely... if someone is planning on metro allow extra time and if crowds make you queasy perhaps an alternate form of transit would be advised since all trains are 6-car and getting a little cozier than I've seen in a long time.

I hate to cancel last minute but I've been doing housework all afternoon and my lungs feel like they have turned to dust. See you next time.

Ah, too bad. Next time!

If anyone's free earlier, I'm pre-gaming at Highline right now.

Excellent outdoor dinner and drinks in a place where you can hear both DCA traffic and Amtrak/VRE/CSX trains. And on that note: Longboater suggested having an Amtrak-specific Do around D.C., which I think is a brilliant idea.
