a nice meetup with DELee and IAD_flyer

Oooh, cheese biscuits - nothing better!

Ono has self-serve by-the-ounce 🍻 I'll be not far from DC Nov 21-29, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to find time for a meetup. I'll post here if we make plans to come into/near the District. |
I'm back in town Dec 2-10 if anyone else is around then.
|
Mrs767 and I will be arriving BWI the evening of 7 Dec, staying in Crystal City; she departs Mon morning (12 Dec) and I get to stay for work the rest of that week (depart afternoon of Thu 15)
|
I'll be in the Baltimore area Dec 11-15.
|
I could probably do Dec 12 or 13th

timing, as the expression goes, is everything … it wasn’t personal :o
I randomly discovered Hawk and Griffin on “International Gin & Tonic Day” last month, and it fit the bill today for us in terms of a centrally located venue that wasn’t a typical brewery |

So for Monday evening? I'm good with that.
Additionally, there's also Willard's near by. Plus a bunch of decent ethnic restaurants within a mile. David |
Thu 8 Dec or Fri 9 Dec; also week of 12-15
(8-9)
Mrs767 and I will be staying in Crystal City; ATOBTTR (pending approval of travel) will be staying in Pentagon City; HPN-HRL will be staying downtown for a change of pace, it might be nice to try a downtown venue … although something in the Rosslyn area might be workable given that the Yellow Line is MIA (12-14) Zorak will be in the BWI area; ATOBTTR and Mrs767 will have returned home; I will be staying in Ballston ideas welcome 🍻 |
Thursday (8th) is best for me. I can possibly do Friday the 9th, but I'd have to check my flight plans to be sure. Some downtown ideas, uhhh ... Boqueria (Dupont) for tapas, Kafe Leopold (Georgetown) for ... coffee/pastries/<Austrian Food> or perhaps Busboys and Poets (this is a bit of a drive from Pentagon City). If you want a boozy option, could also do Bluejacket at the Navy Yard or Iron Gate (Dupont), I think they're run by the same group/distributor?
I also have not been to the Wharf since they redeveloped it. Looks like there's some new stuff down there that might be worth exploring. Should be a short hop across 14th St. bridge or Memorial Bridge, and is Metro accessible-ish (maybe 10min walk from L'Enfant?). Or there's always Tysons ... Founding Farmers maybe? I dunno. I don't know the booze scene across the Potomac. |
I can do the 9th, but not the 8th. Downtown or Rosslyn would work fine (or split the difference and go to somewhere near Foggy Bottom). Let me think of possible places over the next couple of days.
I Am good with Ballston or thereabouts the week of the 12th. |
Happy to join up, although 12/9 is my firm's annual holiday party. Deciding between my colleagues at the Ritz Carlton or you all.....hmmmmm.
|
I can do the 9th, possibly the 8th.
