Hopefully, I can sign hubby (Mike) up for Rookie Boot Camp.
Would love to meet other couples where one is an obsessive mile/point junkie and the other one is totally out of the loop.
It kills me that he doesn't know every brand of Starwood hotel or who the major air alliances are...
I'm sure that I'm not alone !

Pat
We have a similar situation but now Mr. Silver Springer has a card in his wallet that tells him which card to use for various purchases (gas, groceries, dining).

He also now reads some of the blogs which is new this year. After two DOs he has outgrown the rookie bootcamp. Your husband will learn a lot.

Cheers, Mary Anne

HI EGV Sold out

This is amazing. It is mid January and the hotel is sold out. I was really hoping to catch it early this year to avoid booking elsewhere. Last year I stayed a short distance away at the Hyatt Place and it was wonderful.....but I would prefer not to have to spend an outrageous amount of money to rent a car and would prefer to stay at the host hotel.

Had some trouble booking the Holiday Inn. But snagged a room at Sheraton Suites (local, I hope!) for $109 on best available.

All booked and looking forward to attending. It will be my first time.

I'll probably just do the opposite this year. Wait until the last minute and just show up. Then again food, room, airfare, raffle donation etc. I'd probably be better off saving for the next *A mega do or do a MR that weekend.

I could book one night, Friday, but SO on Saturday according to website and reservations line. What did you end up with? Both nights? Rick, can you chime in and verify that the hotel is SO? Thanks!

I just talked to central reservations and with Angie at the hotel. Both say that they are sold out. Angie says they're actually overbooked for both nights by 14 rooms.

If they overbooked by 14 rooms and everyone had a guarantee on the card, is it first come first serve to stay at the hotel or lst come lst serve on booking?

It is amazing if the hotel has already sold out, considering there is a 1-night cancellation penalty. Apparently word is getting out about the value of this seminar weekend.
