Ft'ers not only take pictures, we dart and tag them to learn more about the species. Yesterday, while waiting to board at LAX (after just getting back form AMS no less) I saw a team of FT'ers take down 3 or 4 rather large and dangerous Gate Lice. They tranquilized them, got the tag in the ear, and revived them like pros's. The data we collect on the North American Gate Louse is critical to managing the species. IT IS OUR JOB!

No Gate Lice were hurt in this operation.

Exclamation Alert: Thread Moved

How about we ask FlyerTalk members who are members of other frequent flier loyalty programs this question?

The new home for this thread is now the CommunityBuzz! forum.

Does this mean that FTers are abandoning the long-held tradition of removing their clothing and running up and down the aisles of the aircraft so as to identify themselves as FTers? Was there a vote?

We did that on StarMegaDo1. The entire plane was FTers. It was pretty cool to see ALL the call buttons lit

Cheers.

Does the yellow FT tag really get attention? We will see I got mine earlier this week and have two runs this weekend to LGA.

Since I have two...maybe I should wear them as ear rings :P

Yes they do. I've had other FTers (who I didn't know) notice me due to FT tags. But just putting them on luggage doesn't mean an automatic notice. Remember, the airlines run hundreds of flights a day, & folk book in every class. Doesn't mean you'll spot one.

Cheers.

All I did tonight was talk "shop" to the flight attendant on my ORD-SFO flight. The guy next to me said "Flyertalk" as he figured right away that I must be a FT nerd.

It was nice meeting Jace on this flight! ^

How about this for a Level 1 passphrase:

Complete the following: "Interior Crocodile Alligator, _________________"
Extra points for a silly dance or eating a bowl of cereal messily.

Sorry, but one more time for the slow kids on the bus.

Where do we get Flyertalk Bag Tags?

Click on "Extras" at the top of any FT page. From the menu that drops down, choose the third item: "FlyerTalk Merchandise." On that page, click the second real link: "Original FlyerTalk Store." (There may be some paid advertising links above the two FT links.) The luggage tags are at the bottom of the page that you'll see, under "Other Products." The words "FlyerTalk Luggage Tag" are a live link that will take you to a page where you can specify quantity, etc., and complete your order.

Just look for the guy on your Continental flight selling headphones who isn't a Continental employee.

Well over in the United forum, we sign the "Voices" page of Hemispheres Magazine. It is a pretty dead giveaway for a FTer when they break out the pen immediately upon taking their seat... Then the game is to be spotted until the end of the month.

We had a nice chat about FT in general after he saw my yellow tag while at gate.
