Ok,
Here's the Starwood deal:
  • Everyone participating will get Gold status comped immediately
  • Platinum is also being offered, but only as a status match at the regular one time rule.
  • Current Platinums will get goodies as well, but it will be a surprise presented later. Trust me as a 60+ Stays a year Platinum, I'm VERY excited about what they are offering. ;)

Thank you again, Tommy
We have the final details, everyone's happy. :D I guess I wouldn't need to credit anything else to SPG this year to requalify for Gold, but I want SPG points more than status.

I'll work on getting more people to join us!

very much appreciated ! I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make a push for SPG Gold, with 7 stays planned for now, especially with the 16 nights at the Wyndham New Orleans being thrown into my hotel stays, but this together with the bonus points is very much appreciated !

Hope you guys will have less heartburn about reaching the break-even point then last year !

As for flights and information, I'm hoping that the personalized website will have all the info for making interesting combinations of flights, I'll stick with Y (V please instead of W/S ? :D), but I'd be interested in taking CO back from FRA (friend might be taking it)...

I believe the CO fare for the return from FRA is only available if combined with the OS flights on the outbound. Don't hold me to that, but I'm pretty sure I heard something like that in one of the planning meetings.

In other words, the groups fares are not going to be 100% interchangeable because we still have to negotiate those with each individual airline, even though they're all one big happy *A family.

Just some food for thought...

The response to the LX flights has been mild (just 7, we need 12 for a group) and very very weak for the OS (just 2), which has tommys fav 777:cool:

The CO option is only available as a roundtrip with LH/LX...

Can't remember what I signed up for. I think LX to FRA and LH to IAH in business. What happens if not enough for a "group" on LX? If it reverts to LH, can I still get Business?

LX is accommodating so far, and yes, we hold some seats on LH.

All these people complaining about not getting enough miles on the charter and then only two of us choose the transatlantic flight that maximizes the miles! Please count me in on the LX flight if the OS flight is going to be cancelled.

Lufthansa Social Media, flightforum.fi, Scanair.no, & flyertalk.com initiated by thethe starmegado organizers are offering 10 people tours of the visiting A380 in OSL and HEL to give them a tast of what the Starmegado will be in FRA on Nov 2.

All you need is donate 10EUR for a raffle ticket on the Starmegado site to enter for a chance to be picked. The complete proceeds will go to the Help Alliance, LH's employee charity.

I'm assuming you're targeting those in Norway, Sweden or one of the European countries that can get to OSL & HEL easily, vs the Yanks, Canucks & Asians, where it would be a bit longer to fly. Also, for those who do want to get into the raffle, do you have a DATE the OSL/HEL tour would happen so anyone entering can plan accordingly -ie, block out the date in case they're chosen?

Cheers.

Sorry, the filed flight pan is on 15SEP:
LH8924 FRA 06:35 07:55 CPH
LH8926 CPH 10 00 11:15 ARN
LH8928 ARN 12:45 14:45 HEL
LH8925 HEL 16:45 17:00 OSL
LH8927 OSL 20:45 22:35 FRA

The target audience is of course the nordic locals, who are well aware of the timing of the LH A380 visiting thru the press.:)

Blast. I'm actually in Europe then but too late to change my plans to be there if I wanted to enter the raffle. Cool that you're offering it though!

Cool

An intimate session with 'Lady Bee'

Lady Who? :D

Just noticed the following has sneaked into post #1. ^

November 2
14.30-16.30: we get an intimate session with the LH 'Lady Bee'
For the benefit of FTers who are not M&M forum regulars, 'Lady Bee' is the nickname for the A380 LH chose out of 150,000 suggestions in a competition with the top prize of 1 million miles. For some unknown reason the name has never been used!

That was not all that was "sneaked" into post #1, if I am not mistaken. At least there was no announcement from the organizers/moderators. The part that was "sneaked" in is in red.

From the schedule on page 1:
************************************************** *****
November 2
We arrive at FRA, the participants starting the SMD2 in Europe join us from this point

Tours and focus groups 14.00-18.00: LH will organise an event with their *A partners and the *A in the FRA area
14.30-16.30: we get an intimate session with the LH 'Lady Bee'
17.00-19.00: a sneak peak at innovations LH will launch with the B748i; and *A FFP Workshops

Evening reception at 19.00: Meet executives from *A and LH Group airlines
************************************************** *****

So, basically, we will have either a real (in the case of the "Lady Bee," an A380) or what seems to be at least a partial or a full virtual tour (in the case of the brand new B748i) of the two largest commercial passenger airplanes in the world today, as configured by, or going to be figured by LH.

Great stuff guys, thanks!

Eesh. I thought we weren't kicking off in FRA until after 16:00.

Good thing I didn't book the TATL yet - unfortunately, I'm getting an H fare now, which is a chunk more expensive than the V I was getting originally. LH440 must be getting full for some reason or another...

CDG1 Sep 6, 2010 12:50 pm

I have got a few questions here.

1- Are there still seats available on the charter flight?

2- What is the cost of the flights ex-Europe in Economy?
LH440 FRA-IAH 3 Nov.
LH491 SEA-FRA would this be on the 6th or 7th?

Everything else seems pretty clear, cost hotel rooms and all.

This will be birthday time for me. I love planes, I love party flights - I am also a plane spotter... I guess I would have good chances on that - now I am thinking... can I afford this or not?

Waiting for your price estimates.
Thanks a lot in advance. :)
