Hello guys,
I came across to this video by luck on YouTube - it is a video of frequent flyer(s) who is (are) passionate of earning miles. I personally think it's a very good documentary and in my point of view the video is being undervalued (just look at the view count
)
Anyways here is the link and please share you opinion on the comment section

But I agree, it is a great video and due for a bump.

Bumping this thread. Anyone have any updates? The kickstarter page has had no substantive update to funders for years. I guess it is the risk of kickstarter that money will get taken without product. Anyone else donate and have any info?

I was talking about the kickstarter campaign that raised the money for the longer film. Many of us chipped in. But five years in, no results, no response or update to backers, and no refund. Curious if anyone here has heard from him.

Funny you mention this today, I thought of it last week when on kickstarter for something else. I looked and no updates there. I googled his name and he appears to be active as a writer. I was tempted to message him but demurred. As far as I can tell, nothing was produced for the money ($18k).

Wow, maybe he saw this thread or someone emailed him. I just got a Kickstarter update. Apparently, he plans to complete the film. Have to give him credit, he tackles it head on at least. Here is the note:
Yes, I'm terrible at Kickstarter....

Hi folks I know a number of you have been frustrated not only at the long delay to this movie but also (maybe especially) at the lack of updates. Well, does the "better late than never" concept apply here? I hope so. 😬
Most of you have been incredibly patient and understanding as the years have dragged on and I do truly appreciate it. Some of you may have forgotten about this project and will now be newly frustrated because I've reminded you about it. [In fact in the absence of any progress to report, this has been one of the main things keeping me from sending updates. It tends to awaken the trolls, and I get a handful of nasty messages each time. While these are the minority of backers, it's still not something I look forward to.]
But in any case, to those of you who are fed up with waiting, I hear you. You have every right to be fed up. All I can say is that if it's any consolation, the fact that this is still unfinished weighs heavily on me. It's at the top of my list of unresolved items that need resolving.
So, you may be asking, why not just finish the damned film? The simple answer is that I do still intend to do that, but I haven't figured out how yet. There are a couple of things currently holding me back. These are not meant as excuses, but are intended to shed some light on what's been going on:
1) When I plotted out this project I had an unrealistic idea of what it would take to do it properly. So while I was able to do a bunch of production after raising the money here, and I think that footage will still serve the final film well, the reality is that for this not to be a mediocre film I should have planned for much more in the way of time and resources. I know that now I didn't know it then.
2) As the world of frequent flyer miles and lately of global movement has changed over the years, figuring out how to best tell this story has been something of an evolving, moving target. I'm still trying to figure this out. But it will mean at least another round of intensive production and before that I need a really good plan. I'm working on it and when I have a timeline I think I can stick to, I will send another update.
In the meantime, if you all have any ideas I'm eager to hear. A number of you are miles & points veterans. What are the things you'd like to see end up in the final product? How would you like to see the story told?
The headline, in any case, is: I know I have done a terrible job of holding up my end of this Kickstarter bargain and I apologize for that. I do sincerely plan to finish this in some form and at some point. Feel free to get in touch with me if you want to discuss the film or if you have any other questions or concerns. I hope to have some progress to report before too much longer! Thanks for bearing with me.
