How fast does Choice usually post the bonus points?
On promotions like this new 6000/8000, how fast does Choice typically post the bonuses?
I'm getting right down to the wire on a Southwest Companion Pass renewal.
Thanks.

Choice, in general, has been very good about posting points. Typically, within 48-72 hours after the qualifying stay, the points for that stay and and bonus points it triggers are posted.
Weekends and holidays may stretch the time out a bit, but I've been satisfied with their promptness over the last couple of years.

And unlike most other programs I'm familar with, they don't update just once overnight. Yesterday in the morning may Monday night one-night stay hadn't posted yet, but later in the day it did. So if you only check once a day in the morning, it may seem to take a "day" longer than it actually did.

Well, Choice posted my bonus points pretty fast, I must stay.
Had a stay earlier this month and also Friday Feb 27 and the bonus is there Monday morning March 2 as I check for the first time:
"02/27/09-02/28/09 MO046; Quality Inn Airport; ST LOUIS, MO 530
Spring 2009 Free Night 6,760
02/08/09-02/09/09 MD617; Comfort Suites BWI Airpor; LINTHICUM HEIGHTS, MD 710"
This Quality Inn, by the way, is not too great. While I was in the lobby working on the computer briefly Saturday morning, 3 people came to the front desk with various tales of woe involving showers, hot water, air conditioning/heat, urine on the floor, etc. The desk clerk did not sound shocked. I had a few problems as well, but nothing major.
Choice-hopping the next night, I found that the Comfort Inn in Hazelwood, MO a few miles away is quite nice, for the same price.
Points for this second stay have not yet posted.

Did 2 stays Mon/Tues. My 8000 bonus points posted on Thursday.
I stayed at an Econo Lodge and a Quality Inn.
FYI, the QI in Batavia NY is more Courtyard by Marriott in look/feel.

Just had two stays at the Comfort Inn in Fairbanks.
The second one posted with the bonus posted at the same time.
However, the second stay posted as less than 8000 points total, even though it listed the Spring 2009 promotion.
I then read the fine print on the offer:
Bonus points will be added to points earned from every two qualifying stays at eligible rates with arrival between Feb. 5 and April 30, 2009, to reach the 8,000 point reward level
So essentially they deduct your base points from the 8000. In my case, the bonus was really 6500 points and not 8000.
They generously let me keep the Diamond bonus on the base points, though.
At least now I know why I only got a 10000 point bonus last year on the free gas card promotion, even though the free gas card cost 14000 points. I haven't done the math, but I'm sure there was some similar fine print. I know, I know - That was a lousy use of points, but I had some expiring....

I'm hoping Choice will post well and fast for me, too...combining a four-day hop between two properties on the same street only a block apart in Tucson plus the accumulated bonuses from the Hyatt deal will, if all posts in time and with the right dates, get me my first Companion Pass ever. My spreadsheet says I'll juuuust clear it with 101 credits for a period of about 3 days before some old ones expire.

Don't assume that car rental RR credits will come in quickly, though. I learned that one the hard way.

Choice is not the culprit here, since they are fairly fast and accurate at posting, IME. I'm talking Alamo, for example.
If the WN credits take anywhere from 2 days to 12 weeks to show up, with no way to predict, they play havoc with your CP planning. Since WN doesn't give you anything special for the 101st and more credits in a year, it makes no sense to accumulate/transfer more than 100. If you cut it too fine, you risk not having enough credits post, or too many.
Sometimes you are forced to make an extra transfer (like from Choice, Diners, etc.) when you don't want to, and you waste credits when some unexpectedly show up, or risk having some old ones scroll off. This happened to me last week when my CP deadline was upon me.
