Where ever you end up staying, take the Maglev either to or from the airport! One of the few in the world and yours to experience!^

Very few people who either live in or travel frequently to Shanghai use the Maglev. I think it's brilliant if you are visiting the exhibition centre near Longyang Rd. station straight off the plane but not for much else.

OT but at least the restaurants behind the Maglev entrance at PVG are a bit more varied and with better taste than in the main terminal.

In general, you're right. However, even frequent visitors and/or residents do use it when unable to hail a taxi and you happen to be close to subway station
