Transportation from PEK to Beijing

Hello,

Last minute question. I'm sure there is a transportation thread, but I didn't find it.

Midday arrival. Best just to take a taxi or is private transportation available "on the fly" at the airport?

If a taxi, approximate cost? (I don't want to over withdraw from an ATM as I plan to use AliPay for almost all transactions.)

(I booked a ride via trip.com for a reasonable price, but it all but requires an active phone number for the provider to send directions. I plan to get a SIM card upon arrival, but won't have it setup in my phone.)

TIA!

Easiest is to just follow the signs to taxis. Taxis will accept Alipay.

Also agree that taxi is your best bet.
Although PEK has pretty much done away with all the shady 'black taxi' guys, when you first exit where the taxi stands are, you may find an official asking where you are going. That's for limousines/mini-busses and cost more.
Best to just walk past that person, and wait in line for a regular taxi.

Never took a taxi from PEK into town, but I'd expect maybe RMB 100 - 150?

PEK is in Beijing... Beijing is 400 km by 400 km.

A taxi should be no more than 100-120 rmb if you're taking it to the geographical center.
A didi will run you less.
