Business Class RT US-China

Looking for ways to find deal to use mileage to purchase two business class ticket from US to China, depart around end of May, return in the middle of August. Ca stop over at other city/country, as long as it makes economic sense.

Use United miles or AA/Alaska miles to book USA/Japan RT tickets. Buy a cheap economy RT Japan/China. That’s the best deal you’re gonna get these days.

If you can get yourself to Europe, it's not difficult to find RT J fares for under $2000.

Check NRT/HND/KIX for Japan. Don't forget about ICN/TPE/HKG as well.

For HK from the US, some hidden cities knock about $1000 off of one way fares, and the actual destinations (e.g. XMN, HGH, NKG) might be somewhat viable. The overall market is still jacked up compared to 2019 though; even tricks that have nothing to do with China don't work so well.

US-China in May and China-US in August are both peak seasons as Chinese international students returns home. It would be hard to find any award seats, let alone 2 seats in J. You might have some better luck going through Europe such on VS, or find seats to TYO last minute, if you have access to AA miles, they tend to have good availabilities for JL last minute.
