Leaving PVG - daily situation
PVG today is incredibly quiet, this is the G wing at midday, including Hong Kong Airline flights to Hong Kong.
Gate: G173 Flight: PVG-HKG HX237 @ noon
Taking checked-in luggage is a bigger issue than normal because of the HK enforced 14-day quarantine, causing all sorts of problems if your airline won't check you through to your final destination. HKA ain't by default.

My flight HX237 today has 35 people on it.

I flew out twice since this outbreak, two weeks ago and again last week. Two weeks ago from when we entered the Customs area until after security we were told not to wear masks. By people wearing masks no less. Last week we only had to drop the mask when checking in, passport control, and boarding. I imagine masks were compulsory, they were anywhere else in Shanghai. I don't recall anyone anywhere in the airport without a mask.
For anyone flying out, my advice is get to the gate early. I arrived right at boarding time and they were waiting for me. It was like they were rolling up the carpet behind me as I boarded. I would not have been happy if they closed the flight without me which they seemed on the verge of doing. Less than 40 people on a 777.

I flew out last Thursday. I had a mask in my computer bag, which I was prepared to don at any time, but I didn't have to. On the flight, not only did I get there seats to myself, but the rows in front and behind me were also completely empty.
