I think the metal detectors are very sensitive in China and beeps every time, I was actually wondering if they were fake ones, just designed to beep every time someone walks over.

I've seen my wife get through without a beep. Her preferred attire is completely metal-free. (I don't think I've ever been through PVG not wearing blue jeans--metal button, metal zipper, some metal rivets.)
