Not only her but most of the HK techno-pop artist as well.

K-pop
J-pop
C-pop
Canto-pop
Mando-pop

lots of pops

I think KPOP is by far the most popular.

She was quite proficient with dialects and languages.

I have her CDs in Mandarin, Cantonese, Taiwanese, English, and Japanese.
Wasn't she enormously popular in Japan during the 70's? Especially for a foreigner?

Super important. Tell your tutor to correct your mistakes. Chinese teachers (the Chinese ones) are notorious for telling you your madarin is excellent (or at least not bad) when it is horrible.
