What is this magic box

Moondog, all,

Can you tell me why a ziplock bag vending machine was so facinating that I could not even get a minute with no people in front of it to take a good picture of it ?

Thanks

This is a first for me, but isn't all that surprising. When you have 500,000 people per day day passing by, you can sell pretty much anything.

Hard to say as you can't see much in the photos but these people are probably as puzzled as you are and looking for something special that would explain the presence of a ziplock distributor. These things are sold in most supermarkets.

The Chinese characters on the kiosk said free and I think it is the reason why. They are not taking picture, I think they are scanning the QR code for freebies

It says "free pick up (or free to take)". Probably set up this vending machine as an ad for Ziploc, and it's spitting out free samples.

Also, Ziploc bags and Glad wrap were number 1 and 2 of top requests each time I visited family in China 15 years ago. We love to pack and wrap things.
