Not exactly all.

Just those that hang out in SLT.
It's OK to go to KTV....

The Public Security Bureau wants to clean out the foreign trash: To arrest foreign thugs and protect innocent girls, they need to concentrate on the disaster zones in [student district] Wudaokou and [drinking district] Sanlitun. Cut off the foreign snake heads. People who can’t find jobs in the U.S. and Europe come to China to grab our money, engage in human trafficking and spread deceitful lies to encourage emigration. Foreign spies seek out Chinese girls to mask their espionage and pretend to be tourists while compiling maps and GPS data for Japan, Korea and the West. We kicked out that foreign ..... and closed Al-Jazeera’s Beijing bureau. We should shut up those who demonize China and send them packing.

I saw one commentator with substantial China knowledge mention a campaign to reduce the number of foreigners living and working in China is underway.

Hence the need to inflame local sentiments and point out non-Chinese as people with low morals and corrupt behaviour, as opposed to the law abiding local citizens and officials.

Yes, and what a coincidence that this campaign was formulated and publicized at a time of political turmoil at the top Chinese leadership. Kill the Foreigners is a time-honored diversionary tactic. Too bad most ordinary Chinese are stupid and brainwashed enough to fall for it.

Should I encourage my 24 yr old daughter to not pursue her dream of going back and living in China (as an English teacher, has passed the text requirements, studied Mandarin, is working with a placement agency).
Any advice? I'm getting concerned.

According to my (Chinese) wife, a lot of anti-foreigner sentiment is directed at the Sanlitun crowd, and particularly at foreign males with Chinese women.

My hope is to someday retire to China and, the fact that I'm married to a Chinese woman notwithstanding, I'm not particularly worried about this expression of anti-foreign sentiment.

" People who cant find jobs in the U.S. and Europe come to China to grab our money."

Well send them back, but also send some (a lot of ) money here.

California Governor Jerry Brown:

"The Chinese are sitting on piles of cash." "For California, we're dealing with state issues and jobs," "There's trillions of dollars over the next 10 years the Chinese have to invest. They're doing it in South America, they're doing it in Africa, and they're not doing it in California at the level they could."

The latter is good to hear as I'm also a non-Chinese married to a Chinese woman, although we normally go to Shanghai and it's vicinity rather than Beijing.
