Very easy and pleasant MMW opt out
I had a very easy and pleasant opt out experience yesterday at DUS. I decided I did not want to be subject to MMW scan which was the primary (and only) visible option at the checkpoint. I told the clerk at the other side of the scanner "I would like a manual hand search" and she simply called to her colleague and directed me to her. I did not have to wait any length of time. The Pat-down was conducted respectfully, without any inappropriate touching, and was complete in just over a minute. The clerk did not try to make me wait pending ETD checks on his gloves, and was extremely polite and friendly.
