TSA BDOs

Where do they come from? Are they promoted from within? Hired from without? any formal background beyond the training TSA gives? Any references?

A search in previous threads seems to indicate they are standard-uniformed BDOs. Are there also undercover BDOs? How does this work?

Wherever they come from they should all be riffed! BDO's serve no useful purpose and are a dead drag on the public good. No going back to old positions, just out the door.

Even so, they are still uninformed.

They are "experts" and "masters" -- just ask them...

Didn't the GAO report reveal that the majority had only a high school diploma or a GED?

I didn't read the GAO report that closely, but, by the luck of the draw, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.

Yes.

But there's a more interesting study...

Overall, we find that dishonest individuals... prefer to enter government service, wrote Hanna and coauthor Shing-yi Wang, an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

There is not one Federal, State, or local law enforcement agency that utilizes the TSA's behavior detection voodoo program.

Most TSA BDO practitioners are two-stripers (lead screeners), but all TSA employees can exhibit Behavior Detection VooDoo tendencies. Call them out on this at all times. ^ If you see a two striper looking around with nothing to do, that's your guy.

Really? I would love to play Spot The BDO with these guys. It would just ruin their day. What to look for?
