I told him my name was on my boarding pass. He repeated his question, I repeated my statement - he waved me through.

Just curious as to the resistance to stating your name. Compared to other countries I've visited over just the past 3 years, I find the majority of TSA agents to be polite and professional. I'd have no issue with stating my name. I don't want one to hold me up in line because one doesn't want to comply with a simple request.

I don't like to do it, because other pax do have ears, and it's none of their business what my name is.

I try to travel as anonymously as possible - that includes no external identifiers on my clothing, bags, or anything else that show my name or company.
When TSA needs an ID, they'll get a passport card - nothing with my address on. Also... I'm not playing their stupid games.

FWIW, I've gone through a few international land and air border crossings in the last few weeks and a remarkable number of them have deliberately gone out of their way to call me by my name while processing things to gauge my reacti:on.

Some of us are old enough to recall that Raymond Luxury Yacht's name is spelled "Raymond Luxury Yacht," but it is pronounced
.

I am sure I posted this years ago during the height of the name game but I started dropping the first consonant after each vowel in my name. I was never questioned. Which was not the case when I replied "Jesus Christ" which was initially more in frustration but it went from there.
