Using Chase cards abroad

Since Chase cards are card and pin, have you guys encountered any difficulties using your cards in Europe like London or Hong Kong? If it does ask for PIN, then what?

I encountered a ticket machine in Japan which would only take cards with a pin. CSR failed. Ended up just using cash but debit would have worked too I suppose. If a machine requires a PIN youre SOL.
