Here is some research from 2012:

I'm just the old fashion laid back style. Do not want to get excited so easily. :p

That said, the situation I cited back then was a little different. Chase disputed the transaction date. Anyway, I just returned from the mall where I made a small purchase at Macy's Department Store. It will post in Q4 and I'll let you know if I get the bonus. |

I bought $125 in gift cards from Walgreens yesterday so we will see when it posts tomorrow if I get the bonus points or not from Q3.

Can someone explain to me how I can use Chase Pay? Went to Walgreens and had them scan my QR code which didn't work. Do you have to have a Samsung device to actually be able to pay with a tap? If so, any cheap options out there? I have 5 freedom cards I'd like to use but I'm not impressed with Chase pay so far.
Or does tap and pay work directly in Chase Pay using a phone with NFC? |

My 9/30 Costco Gas posted in October, but Q3 qualified. So, I agree on transaction date (which is true for DIscover too).
On the Chase Pay Q4 situation. It has to be tested on Samsung phones only when you open Chase Pay, then open the Pay option on the Freedom card, then click the Samsung Pay option to get a combined Chase/Samsung Pay NFC/MSD activation if it counts as Chase Pay (5%) or not. I do not believe we have seen any examples of this working yet. This complex digital wallet method does not apply to any other device type. I really like the S7 series (assuming no pink line issue) for a very powerful phone, cheaper that has wireless charging and supports Samsung Pay. |

Hmm. Your experience and mine indicate Chase is using transaction date rather than post date. That, to my knowledge, is a reversal. But two data points aren't conclusive, of course.
