Which type of protection to use?

Early October 2017 I was in Vietnam and had some custom tailoring done (suit). It was a total of $206 with two payments of $103 made on my CSR. I no longer have the credit card receipts, and the sales receipt is chicken scratch written on a small piece of yellow notebook paper. Got home and the suit just doesn't fit well, something I'd never wear. Of course there's no chance of returning it and there is a no refund policy. I live in the USA.

Any chance I'd be covered under purchase protection? Figure it's a long shot, but figure I'd ask.

TIA!

Purchase protection does not cover unsatisfactory quality: The conditions for coverage are theft, damage, or involuntary and accidental parting with property.

Return protection is a better fit, but items purchased outside the USA are excluded.

Have you taken it to a local tailor for an estimate of the cost to rectify the problems?

Yes, I saw that purchase protection items must be purchased in the USA.

"If you buy an eligible item in the United States using your Account
or rewards points earned on your Account and experience theft,
damage, or involuntary and accidental parting with property
within one hundred and twenty (120) days from the date of your
purchase, Purchase Protection will replace, repair, or reimburse you
up to a maximum of ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars for each
claim and up to fifty thousand ($50,000.00) dollars for each year.
The decision to replace, repair, or reimburse you will be made at the
Benefit Administrator’s discretion."

However for return, I see no clause...

"If you are dissatisfied with an item of personal property that you
purchased entirely using your Account or rewards points earned
on the card and the merchant will not accept the return, Return
Protection will reimburse you for the cost of the item"

Maybe it's just assumed that it was purchased in the USA?

I'd love to take it to a tailor, however it's too tight in the thigh/crotch, not material to let out unfortunately.

Thank you for your reply!

The Purchase Protection terms include international purchases, see page 6:

Items purchased outside of the U.S. are covered as long as they are purchased with your Account and the purchase meets the terms and conditions of Purchase Protection
The Return Protection terms exclude international purchases, see page 24:
