I have a 5/24 question. I've looked around and seen contradictory information on this.

I opened 4 cards in 2015 and one card on September 12th, 2014. Those are my last five cards; the card previous to that was in June 2014 I believe.

For the purposes of 5/24, when am I able to open another Chase card? September 13th? October 1st? Now?

Thanks in advance.

Now that Chase is publicly acknowledging 5/24, I'd call them and ask.

That's a good point. Do the CSRs know those sorts of details or is it automatically rejected by the computer?

Applied online for CSR on 8/22 and was denied because of 5/24.

Is there any sort of "cooldown" in between applying for Chase cards (e.g. waiting 30 days before re-applying)?

I will be 4/24 by next week and I'm hoping to get the CSR as soon as possible.

I have CSP with $40k CL and no other relationship with Chase.

Is it appearing anywhere other than on the CSR app page?

For the moment, I've updated the wiki with info on this development, most especially to caution that the absence of explicit 5/24 terms on other Chase card offers is not evidence of anything, let alone a guarantee that 5/24 doesn't apply.

Once you drop to 4/24, try calling recon. Maybe they will approve with updated details.

Nowhere else. Presumably 5/24 is coded the same way for all cards affected by it.

Thanks. Yes, I'd be astonished if Chase had different versions of 5/24 for different cards.

For the record and to answer my own question upthread, my #5 dropped off on Aug 31 and I was instantly approved on Sept 1 for CSR.

Thanks for coming back to update this. I guess I will wait until 9/14/16 (when I'll have 2 credit cards roll off my 24 month timeframe) to call the recon line. Got the CSR denial letter two days ago after getting the 7-10 day pending decision while applying in a Chase office. I was not pre-approved, but thought I'd try anyway.

Sounds like they'll be doing another hard pull if you want them to see your newly updated report. I'd definitely being reviewing it prior to making that recon call.

Anyone know if Chase Biz AUs count against 5/24?

Spouse is at 5/24, if we include his Chase Ink AU (on my primary account).

Also was an AU on a personal Barclay card of mine, but I removed that about 8 months ago. It doesn't show up on Equifax credit report. Is it safe to say that won't count? I didn't realize they disappeared off CR on their own.

Data Point - approved for IHG and I'm way outside the 5/24.

Required a recon call and moved some CL from RitzCarlton card for this new one. In addition to exceeding 5/24, my last set of aps were 6/15, so not quite 90 days plus SO bought a truck Tuesday which resulted in HP on both of us for all 3 bureaus (maybe it hasn't registered yet).
