I am suddenly having trouble transferring UR points. I tried recently to transfer from my Freedom to my wife's Sapphire Reserve (which I had done successfully many times) and I got an error message. Then I realized that I her CC number had changed because we lost her card and got a new one. So I removed her old CC number, then realized there was no link or button to add a new external account. I checked my Ink account, and still no way to add an external account. I then looked at my wife's Sapphire Reserve account, and there was no apparent way to add an external account. The webpage still talks about transferring to external accounts, but now its not clear how to do it. Anyone else come across this problem? Should I call Chase?

You can call and ask them to add it, but almost all in your situation seem to have been unsuccessful. I have your exact scenario (CSR number changed, wanted to add it to business login) and so far have not been able to get anyone to do that. So every month when my Ink miles post I call and have them do the combining.

Anyone had success in re-adding a historically linked card to combine points where the receiving card UR has had its numbers changed (mine was from fraud too)?

I haven't linked a new account in at least 3-4 years, but fortunately, the process has not changed.
I called in to link my Freedom Unlimited to a family member's new CSR. The phone rep was very knowledgeable and immediately asked if either my account or my family member's was already linked to another account. Neither was. He then asked for the surname and full account number, as well as how many points to transfer. I just asked to transfer 10 points as a test and it succeeded.
Hung up the phone and logged in to my account. Sure enough, I see my family member's CSR on the combined points page. Also the 10 point transfer under the transaction history.
So basically, nothing seems to have changed in 3-4 years and it's still easy to link a new account..

It's certainly not working for everyone. After getting a new CSP, I lost the ability to link that card in my Chase Ink Cash's UR portal, and have had to call Chase each time to transfer points. I called support today and was escalated to somebody who said that they are aware of an issue with combining points, but have no timeframe for resolution. I'll give them another month, then I'll simply cut my losses and replace the Ink Cash with a Citi Custom Cash.

It seems pretty clear to me that they have no interest or plan to fix it. I am no longer calling every month to combine (or as the last agent says, transfer) my Ink UR to my CSP, but replacing the Ink Cash with a Citi CC seems like an odd remedy.

My CIC is basically only used for the 5% on my cell phone these days, so it's expendable. The Citi card gives you 5% on your top category, so it's not like I'm losing anything other than padding my UR account with a few points each month. Chase doesn't want to fix it, fine, I'll give Citi that business.

Only on the top eligible category, and cell phone does not appear to qualify:
5% eligible categories: Restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, select travel, select transit, select streaming services, drugstores, home improvement stores, fitness clubs, live entertainment.2
