Applied for CSP, sent regular Sapphire
I applied through the Flyertalk affiliate link for a CSP, was approved after calling the reconsideration line but today received the regular Sapphire card.
Called them up and they said they cannot change it, but I would have to re-apply for the CSP again and get approved, then cancel the regular Sapphire account.
Anyone else seen this happen? Any advise? I would rather not end up with another inquiry and a card closure on my account. Not to mention not getting the 40k and points transfer.

I would call again and ask for a supervisor if necessary.
It is definitely possible to upgrade to the SP from the regular Sapphire (have read about it around here, too lazy to search, but you can try), as well downgrade the SP to the Sapphire.
Did you ask about why you received the regular Sapphire, even though you applied for the SP? Did you confirm which card your application was for?
I would call again and ask to get the CSP, not the regular Sapphire, as well as the bonus points offer. You will not need to close the card, nor take another hard pull on your credit report.

Just called back at the reconsideration line and was able to get re-approved and they just moved over the credit line from the Sapphire card.
Michelle was quite helpful
Oh and sorry about the cross post, realized it should be here after but couldn't delete it in the other section.
