===============================================Bes t public available offer:
Two free nights at any tier 1-4 Ritz Carlton Hotel after $3k spent. Annual fee of $395 NOT waived. https://www.theritzcarltonrewardscard.com/2CN

$300 Annual Travel Credit
"Make the most of your trip with a $300 annual travel credit to use for baggage fees, Global Entry fees, seat upgrades, access to your preferred airport lounge and more. Simply use your card for these expenses and call us at 1-855-896-2222, and we will refund the charges after your flight."

Actual T&C language, as of 08.22.15:"Only the following types of non-ticket Net Purchases qualify for this offer: airline lounge day pass, or towards a yearly lounge membership of your choice; airline seat upgrades; airline baggage fees; in-flight internet/entertainment; in-flight meals; Global Entry fees."

As of 1/2/2015, Credit for these charges are based on TRANSACTION (purchase) date, not posting date. If you made an eligible purchase before the end of the year, even if it doesn't post until the following year, you can still receive credit for the previous year. See post #1268

DO NOT attempt to get all $300 in one transaction. Most CSRs will question what incedential charge would be so high. Instead, get multiple smaller gift cards which line up with fees that airline charges. Make sure that whatever amounts you choose, you have an explanation ready for each. For example, AA overweight baggage fee is $150. $50 is first checked bag for 2 ppl. $75 is in the range of upgrade fees, etc.

Reimbursed:

AA e-Giftcards
Southwest eGiftcards - As of 12/30/14 Chase can distinguish between "incidental" and gift card purchase. YMMV depending on CSR.
Delta Giftcards (YMMV)
$78 AA Award flight taxes reimbursed
$22 BA Award flight taxes reimbursed
~$150 AA award fees, taxes, fuel surcharge reimbursed
$246 AA award fees, booking fee, all reported as upgrading to busn award
United Flight Taxes
Spirit Big Front Seats
Spirit Onboard Food and Drinks
DL Ticket Change fee $300
$210 DL first class up-fare
$300 of a $525 AA Admirals Club annual membership
$50 DL Transfer miles fee (2k miles plus $30 fee)
~$160 SQ award fees (circa 2014)
$70 upgraded seats on AA
$34 US award fees
$34 BA Award fees
$90 oneway ticket on AA (paid additional $90 with AA e-gc from last year)
$84.50 x 2 AA award fees
$150 B6 change fees er...umm..."seat upgrades"
$75 UA gift registry (no longer works as of Summer 2015)
$49.95 Bags VIP charge. It surprised me that it went since it comes up as BagsVIP and not an airline. I told the CSR it was AA's partner for baggage delivery and that I was (honestly) unsure if it would work.
UA Gift Registry $150 (one worked, one didn't) -- no longer works as of Summer 2015
$274 BA seat selection for 2 J class seats, LAX-LHR (Jan 2016)

Not Reimbursed:
$315 Avianca ticket charge
United giftcards
$150 AA award redeposit fee (YMMV)
UA Gift Registry $150 (one worked, one didn't)

The deal for 140K points is dead. Chase has replaced it with a complimentary night stay at any Tier 1-4 Ritz-Carlton hotel after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months, available here. As of February 12, 2015, there IS A BETTER known public offer (see below).

The 70K offer is long gone.

[EXPIRED] Active link found on blog 12/16 for 140K offer: https://www.theritzcarltonrewardscard.com/offer140k
Many have applied through this link only to find the application was assigned to a different promo for 2 free nights instead of points. Calling JP Morgan Chase CS has indicated they are aware of this issue and CSRs are expecting the 140k points to be honored but no one in this situation has actually received the 140k points as of Dec 28, 2014.

[EXPIRED] As reported by ghitt87: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/22807838-post16.html
Call 1-888-846-7004 to apply.
Mention these RSVP:
F5BP - 140k points after 2k spend in 3 months. Annual fee of $395 not waived first year. - DEAD 9/25
F53K - 70k points, $395 waived first year.

I wasn't targeted, but called and used the RSVP code (5/2). Just act like you got it in the mail.

Yeah, so far I still like the card at this point, since I managed to book a ritz reservation at a convenient time and used my hotel credit and club upgrade as well as $200 of travel reimbursement and my 140k welcome bonus points posted today. But it's bittersweet with all the category changes and expiring points making the program look worse overall.

I have had the opposite experience. I love the card. I got 2 club level nights in New Orleans at a savings of $300/night. Then, used the $100 credit for my wife at the spa. Use the flight credit for my monthly gogo pass. Use the card for rental cars for primary insurance. Gold benefits at 2 marriott stays. 140,000 signup points. I don't use the card for many purchases, but I have received great value from it.

Bought $75 in United Gift Registry on 2/24/15. Posted on 2/26/15. Called on 2/27/15 to have it reimbursed as part of travel credit. Very nice and friendly agent said "absolutely."

Thanks for the advice! I called in again, explained that the $200 was for golf clubs that I paid for in advance, she went ahead and approved it

Got two $130 AA award charges covered by a very cooperating agent, told her it was for two extra bags. Just for fun asked her to reimburse the $11 BA tax to see if it would fly, but she said no.

I've seen people got denied/approved for aa gift card, very conflicting data points. My question is as long as you have a logical explaination, the CSR will most likely approve it right? Also, i know that aa gift card purchase directly on aa website will show aa.com...,can i still say it for oversize bagges? Tks

Not really sure if this would work. Just thinking out loud here. If it makes sense I am sure the experts here can fill in the details or shoot it down.

My idea was to get Chase to pay for $300 of the Citi AA Ex $450 annual fee.

1. Renew your admirals club membership for $450. Using your Ritz card.
2. Get $300 credit from Chase. Since it is listed as reimbursable you don't have to worry about a gift card getting denied.
3. Apply for $450 credit against the Citi Ex $450 annual fee because you already have paid for the club membership.
4. Ask Citi for a retention offer to make up for the other $150 that you have paid.

What do you think?

What do you think?

1) Purchase the AAdmirals Club membership for $450 using the Ritz Card

2) Use the $300 Ritz credit for the AA club membership

3) Apply for the AA Exec card

4) Request a pro-rated refund for the AA club membership since you're already a member. Here are the terms for requesting a refund;

"If the primary Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive Card cardmember is already an Admirals Club® member and has sixty or more days remaining (from the date the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive Card card account is approved by Citi) on such current Admirals Club® membership, he or she is eligible to receive a pro-rata refund from American Airlines for any unused portion of his or her current Admirals Club® membership fee. The refund will be based on the number of days remaining on such primary cardmember's current Admirals Club® membership. Refunds will be automatically made in the original form of payment within 12 weeks of becoming a Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive Card cardmember."

Edit: I just noticed a potential problem with the above scenario. The terms state that the refund is "automatically made in the original form of payment". I'm not sure how Chase will handle things if the credited charge is later refunded. Also, your net cost would be the same. In other words, you'll still end up paying the $450 annual fee, $300 of it is from the Ritz credit, but "300 dollars is 300 dollars".

Seems like cancellation fees don't fall under the T&C. What about AA redeposit fees for award cancellation to upgrade to a better seat/flight - thinking this could be considered seat upgrade? Anyone with experience?

Now the pathetic Marriot points have expiration date and you can't extend with UR points transfer. Is it same with RITZ carlton points? Oh wait a min, I gave marriot account number in the app, so I will receive marriot points?
