Chase deducting miles
I just closed my United Explorer account with chase. However, I only had it open for about 5 months. Will Chase really deduct the bonus miles from my Mileage Plus account, as they threaten Terms and Conditions? Has this happened to anyone?

I believe other discussions here have mentioned a 90 day mark.

I had applied for the chase sapphire and was not approved. I called them and they told me that if I wanted to be approved for the Sapphire, I had to cancel one of my other cards. So.... I cancelled my United card because it was the one I needed the least (not thinking about the 6 months). I was put on the spot and probably did not make the best choice.

There are stories people signed up for the Chase BA card with annual fee not waived, they got the 100k miles and closed the card after getting the miles before annual fee hits in the 2nd month....
Chase took the points back and blacklisted them....

Yep, I, too, have read about these scary stories with Chase or others taking back miles.
But it is always someone who heard about it from someone else. Have yet to hear from someone who actually had it happen to them.
I have closed probably a hundred or more card accounts over the years and never had any problem at all. I do usually wait for more than six months, though.
I suspect OP is okay.

This was a couple years ago.
However I believe OP is fine here as his is a "cancellation with reason".
