I received the same $5 Starbucks GC. It is a small gift but very nice.

I did not redeem any points but did booked several flights thru UR.

I bought a $1,000 plane ticket through the Ultimate Rewards site a few weeks ago to get the extra 1,000 miles (paid with the card, no miles redeemed). Today I got a "Thank You" letter with a $5 Starbucks gift card. It said something like "Thank you for using the Ultimate Rewards mall to redeem miles". Nice touch, even though I technically didn't redeem anything?

Purchase showed up in my account tonight, so just 4 days. I'm very impressed.

Can anyone explain what CC allows MR transactions but not UR?
They are essentially identical in features.

I need some hyatt pts (most convenient via UR) but it appears that requesting those is against toc!?

You can transfer points from UR to Hyatt easily online — given that this is an advertised feature of the UR programme, how could it be against the terms?

Just post your trade for Hyatt points in CC without mentioning UR. The details of the trade can be discussed privately in a PM with the trading partner.

IS the Sapphire Card a Visa or MasterCard. Can you choose one or the other?

HawaiiO Nov 19, 2011 8:37 pm

Mine came as a VISA and it didnt give me a choice when I applied.

Keep in mind Hyatt GP allows you to combine points from two accounts for an award, so deposited Hyatt points may not be a necessity.

I have seen a link for a Sapphire Preferred MC floating somewhere on the forums. Sorry I couldn't find it though...

Ultimate rewards

If I purchase something through ultimate rewards, and than return it, will chase deduct the bonus points as well?

You are supposed to have the points deducted, but in my experience they have not been deducted. YMMV!
