If you mean the card expiration date is what you see on BA website under your BAEC account, that is the expiration date of your BAEC membership card. Yes, BAEC membership does have expiration date which actually is different from the membership card expiration date. (one year apart).

OTOH, Chase only apply a BAEC account on your behalf when your application for the credit card would be approved.

6mo rule?

Was a bit worried when I didn't get an immediate respond when I applied.
Then I read here people saying Chase are denying applications for people with new accounts in the last 6 months.

NowI saw online that I was just approved for the card, although I have two more CC with chase, including one opened 3.5mo ago...

100K Miles here I come...

The only real question now is how do I get the additional 30,000 miles I need for the award I'm really trying to get...

Does the three month "clock" start from the day you are approved or from the day you make your first charge?

Why would the membership expire? (I am in several other airline mileage programs - and none of them terminate my membership.) And would its expiration have any effect on miles one has - for example would the miles still be active for three years - but I could use them only if I have an active membership (which perhaps means having a currently active BA credit card - with its yearly $75 fee)?
Is there further information on this issue? I too have recently received a BAEC account, having taken advantage of the BA Chase 100,000 bonus mile offer. I now have 100,000 miles in my BAEC account. When I go to the BAEC web site and sign in, I see that my "Membership year ends 08 Jan 2011," and my "Card expiry date 29 Feb 2012. I am not clear on what this means. What is the difference between Membership year and Card Expiry? More importantly, how long do I have to use my 100,000 miles?

Thanks for any clarification.

The miles won't expire as long as you have activity every 36 months.

Does credit card usage count as activity so as to prevent the miles from expiring, or does it require a BA flight?

Offer dead again?

All three of my links to the offer no longer work. The one direct to the application page lasted a day longer than the other two. Sigh.

So, we await someone finding another link to the offer and posting it here.

According to what it says along the right side of the page, it would still qualify for the 100,000 mile bonus........
It appears this link is now dead.
