Countries that do not need visa to visit Panama

This is a list of countries that DO NOT require visa to visit Panama but there are some limitations on the length of the visit. So check with the consulate office in your country. Some countries are so relaxed that you can come, leave when you are about to get to your limit, stay 1 week elsewhere like Costa Rica or Colombia and re-enter with your counter reset to zero.

If you get a penalty, you won't be able to leave until you pay it and it's usually paid directly at offices that have this weird schedule so it makes it pretty annoying to deal with the bureaucracy.

This countries do not require a visa to visit Panama.

That's the flip side of the longtime trick that foreigners use to stay in Costa Rica. For many years, USA, Canada, and W Europe citizens got 90 days to stay in Costa Rica. They could leave for 72 hours, return, and set the counter back to zero. In Panama, Bocas del Toro and Boquete (via David) are favored destinations for these visa runs. In Nicaragua, Granada and San Juan del Sur are popular places to go. I know people who've done this for years. It's a grey area if this is legal or not.

The 90 days has now been expanded to 180 days for those citizens.
