Premium Fare deal thread to publish any good value premium fares that members find that are good for earning club points on CX.

These fares don't have to start in HKG, and they don't have to be on CX. You can position to other places in Asia / Europe, and this information can also be useful for members who don't live in HKG.

There is also a general FT Premium Fare deals forum: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/premium-fare-deals-740/

Premium Fare Deals Thread

As a way for MPC members to find good club point earning deals, I thought it would be a good idea to create a Premium Fare deal thread.

These fares don't have to start in HKG, and they don't have to be on CX. You can position to other places in Asia / Europe, and this information can also be useful for members who don't live in HKG.

Please use this format when posting deals, and feel free to update the Wiki:

Date fare checked | Price per Club Point | Total Price (HKD) | Total Club Points | Route | Booking Classes | Airlines | Travel Period | Book By | Notes

American Airlines - HKG to EWR

This appears to be a generally available fare (not a sale) fare basis ILX7O9Z1. Please correct me if someone can read the fare rules better.

Date fare checked | Price per Club Point | Total Price (HKD) | Total Club Points | Route | Booking Classes | Airlines | Travel Period | Book By | Notes

9 May 2016 | $106/tp | $23,526 | 220 | HKG-DFW-EWR-DFW-HKG | I / A / A / I | AA | Transatlantic must depart Mon-Thu | NA | Seems to be generally available

Qatar Airways - J class sale to 22 May

Date fare checked | Price per Club Point | Total Price (HKD) | Total Club Points | Route | Booking Classes | Airlines | Travel Period | Book By | Notes

9 May 2016 | $82/tp | $14,085 | 170 | HKG-DOH-ATH-DOH-HKG | R / R / R / R | QR | 05 May 2016
to 10 Dec 2016 | 22 May | Long layover on DOH

On the outbound flight, the layover is a minimum of 8h. I believe that this is valid for STPC, but not certain.

Other European destinations are available, up to around $20k

QR "R" Class does not earn Club Miles and Asia Miles. So I don't think you can get 170 club miles for this booking. You have to be careful with Qatar.

The club points and asia miles earning tables have been updated to include R class.

For the record over the past three months I have purchased the following fares:

HKG-DFW-EWR on AA: HKD23048. Depart Fri 30th Sept, return Sun 9th Oct. Bought on AA.com HK site. I class

HKG-DFW-EWR on AA: HKD22309 Depart Sat 17th Dec, return Mon 2nd Jan. Bought on Zuji.com.hk. I class

HKG-DOH-LHR on QR: HKD18,163. Depart Fri 9th Sept, return Sat 17th Sept. Bought QR.com I class. Layover in DOH is 3hrs on way over, 1.5 on the way back

All prices include taxes/fees

I’m curious if anyone has ever seen lower Business class fares to London/NY on oneworld airlines that still earn points/miles. Sub 20k HKG – NYC would be great!

There used to be a frequent MH sale that would have HKG-LHR for around $18k IIRC. Haven't seen this for a while. As it is now, the generally available LHR fare is $23k in D class earning 200 club points. This is more club points than the CX D class fare at 180 points, albeit with a stopover in KUL for the MH fare.

Ive taken that MH flight previously at that price, however I can usually find HKD18k fares to LHR in Qatar sales. I prefer the Doha airport to KUL and the MH planes HKG-KUL aren’t great. Nor is that satellite terminal in HK. However I do love the all you can eat Satay cart!

Try searching from Oslo (Norway) on CX site.

Couple weeks ago did a search:

Oslo-X-LHR-HKG-LHR-X-Oslo was approx. HK$14-15K in I class

Oslo-X-LHR-HKG-Syd-HKG-LHR-X-Oslo was approx. HK$20-21K in I class... effectively an extra 6K in business class from Hong Kong to Sydney...

Both ways stopover allowed in HKG...

Another good resource on FlyerTalk is the premium fare deals section where there are a lot more premium deals:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/searc...6600&query=HKG

Try searching HKG in there a lot comes up...

I'm assuming that you are referring to JNB-HKG--> USA?

Did it before the changeover in PEY...

Now given the biz points are about double the PEY points but the biz price is about 2.5 times PEY it really depends on the amount of time you have available

Happy wandering

Although this is not particularly stunning in terms of earning club points, premium economy to Australia from HKG is currently $11k all-in. On sale until end of June for travel until January 2017 with the only black out being Christmas. I haven't seen fares this cheap ever and this matches Qantas. CX is really bleeding...
