Refunds
I recently had to cancel a JFK-HKG ticket in Y. Spoke with cathay and told me I just have to pay a 100 dollars Fee. I cancelled the ticket about 2 weeks ago and have yet to see the money come back to my cc account. any idea how long it takes to get the refund? If it makes a difference I was using a visa card

Refunds can take anywhere from 4 weeks to 2 months to process. Then it can take anything up to 4 more weeks for it to reflect on your creditcard.
Sorry, it ain't as fast as when it takes the time to issue the ticket !

it all depends on how busy they are. I issued a ticket and refunded it 5 days later (plans changed) and within the same credit card bill was the charge, and the refund. But CX are pretty good at this so you wont have to do much follow up....it will come soon enough....

4 months for me
I had no luck, booked for a OW SFO/HKG for 6th Aug, in late april this year.
But I had some incidents that need me to leave on 3rd Aug.
I forgot what class the ticket was, but CX wont allow me to apply credit to rebook. I have to cancel the ticket then book a new one 1st week of July(i did in through a new agent), Once i confirmed my 3rd Aug itinerary, I cancelled the 6th and filled for refund.
Fast forward to September, Called MPC, my original agent, even a friend of mine working in International' ticket told me the the 6 Aug was still OPEN?!?!
she helped me to call back to SFO office, and I have to call to CX North American Accounting to check.
Early this weekI got around 70% refund back in my AMEX, i filed an investigate.
Anyways my 3rd Aug flight was great, especially my 3 luggage got deliver quick and the new product.^
