I will be flying JFK-HKG-BKK next Saturday night. In the previous 3 occasions we were allowed waiting on board at YVR, but last time we had to wait at a sort of holding area. I do not know if it was a one off situation or it has become SOP. Anybody knows?

My understanding (from some other posts here) is that they let the J/F passengers remain on board but the Y passengers have to disembark. I was on this flight in June in F and even though they made an announcement that passengers had to get off I stayed on no problem. I didn't hear the entire announcement because I had my iPod on.

Of course SOP could change at any time.

I had a friend, who flew on CX 889 last week. She was in J and was told to stay at the holding room/transit area during the stopover at YVR before continuing to HKG.

YVR seems to go back and forth in a number of ideas regarding the transit procedures.

BTW, do you mind reporting back after your flight?

I am curious myself...

Thanks
