Has something happened with AM posting?

Has anyone else experienced a change in the reliability of points getting posted?

I have changed nothing about the way I book flights. My MPC number always appears automatically on my boarding pass but my last 11 segments have required "manual" posting. It used to be that all my Asia Miles earned on CX would post with 7 days.

Is there a mis-match in the name on your ticket vs the name in your AM account? They have been cracking down on name mismatches much more recently.

When I mixed CX and KA flights in my itinerary, I noticed the following:
* They are on two different record locators.
* Although my TA insists that she puts my MPC numbers on both record locators, the ones with KA flights never shows up when I retrieve my bookings. I always have to call MPC to get my number back on.

There was once when something unbelievable happened. I was able to do OLCI and found that my booking disappeared. I had to call MPC to get that back on.

Question for OP: For the flights requiring manual entering of your MPC number, did they show up when you retrieved your bookings in your MPC account?

I dunno if it's a coincidence, but my flight on 29th October hasn't been posted yet, and IME it usually posts in two days? This is worrying me!

I noticed exactly the same thing these days. seems like one flight out of every 2-3 flights doesn't get posted automatically. my name on my ticket is exactly the same as my account name, and MPO number also appears on the boarding passes correctly, and even some of the other segments that I took the same day and checked in at the same time got posted automatically. just some random flights didn't get posted automatically. very weird and not reliable these days.

I'm not the OP, but I also had that problem recently, and, yes, those flights did show up in my account online. in fact, as I said, those are actually in the same booking - e.g. TPE-HKG-SYD, checked in at the same time, CX MPO # showed on both boarding passes, but only TPE-HKG got posted and HKG-SYD didn't. it happened more than a couple of times already recently I think.

on your problem - i.e. TA entering the MPO # and yet bookings didn't appear online, I had this problem very frequently the past few months too. My agent (Swire Travel) couldn't figure out the reason at all. The only way for me to solve it (somewhat manually) is to call MPO myself and ask them to re-enter the MPO #, then it'll show up online...I still don't know the reason so far though. in my cases, it's most often just pure KA or pure CX bookings, not mixed bookings.

I recently had a KA flight, where I had to have a paper ticket. No problems with the itinerary appearing on the MPO page. And my flight ex-HKG posted miles automatically.

The return flight however, never posted. I don't know if it's because on my return I got op-up'd, but the BP did show the MPO number correctly.

My guess is that the problems are occurring because of KA integration, but only a guess.

I called MPO and got a very friendly and helpful agent who handled my two missing mileage requests. One of them has now been posted and the other is shown under "missing mileage requests and status" in my latest transactions. Props to that CSO. ^
