The Wing
As we always talk so much abotu the Wing in HKG, some members who are new or are nto CX based must be wondering what does it look like inside??
Well wait no more, I have taken some pictures (actually a LOT of picutres 90+) on my recent QF flight and have included many WIng pictures! inclu the buffet!

Yes they do, but it doesn't have anything like the Cabanas or a full buffet restaurant. Having said that it's one of the better BA/QF outport lounges and no real problem if that's where you end up (although it can get a bit crowded at times) - it just pales in comparison to the Wing if you want decent food or a nice relaxing bath.

The QF/BA joint lounge actually has a couple of minor advantages over the Wing F section -- rather surprisingly. I'll leave it as an easter egg for people to discover what advantages that may be. The Wing F side gets far too crowded these days, oh for the days of two years ago when the staff outnumbered the pax.

Well one is that you can have the place to yourself if you go there during the day.
But I haven't seen the F Wing or Pier very crowded recently... maybe I just travel at good times (which has tended to be in the morning or around lunchtime recently).

The F lounge has not been too busy, as far as I can see.
The J lounge is getting quite busy, but there is still always enough seats to accommodate everyone. However, (i) With KA joining the program, I expect many more MPC members from the KA world in the near future - many of the travelers who have not been able to qualify for CX lounge access because they were flying KA will soon be able to use CX lounge; (ii) After KA officially becomes part of OW, any OW SA/EM flying on KA can use CX lounge (probably more preferred compared with KA lounge).

Hopefully by the time KA becomes part of oneworld, CX will have expanded their existing lounges.

Advice from the Marco Polo Club hotline contradicts this. I have been told that as a Diamond flying on KA I can access the F Wing "subject to capacity constraints". But I have not yet tested this. We await real reports.

Well a Diamond can always access the J lounge of the Wing regardless of airline. As I read the rules, strictly speaking access to F lounge is only available when flying CX or oneworld airlines ... but maybe there are unofficial guidelines.

well, KO2546 already posted a "real report" in this thread (post #10) a few days ago...

I wish this wasn't the case as I fly on KA quite often these days.
The benefits chart on CX website is accurate and makes perfect sense... the whole issue only became confusing when MPO issued the merger letter back in December.
