I have checked with the guardian lady of the FC lounge.
MPO DM flying KA (regardless of class, F, J or Y) can only access the KA lounge (with 2 guests) or the CX J lounge (again, with 2 guests, under the "whatever airline" rule). Access to F is only granted when the DM is taking a CX flight, including codeshares.
OW Emeralds, flying KA, get no access to CX lounge until KA becomes an official OW member.
On this occasion though, she let me into F lounge with my Y class KA BP, but only when her colleague stepped away.

Anyway, to confirm, no F lounge access for CX DM travelling on KA until KA joins oneworld

Unless and until a Diamond reports being refused entry when flying KA then all the evidence so far (one person being granted entry and the MPC hotline confirming that it is possible ("subject to capacity control") says the DMs have F lounge access. I don't care how many times it's called a one-off favour - if it happens every time then de facto access is allowed.

Isn't that a CX trademark, offering unofficial benefits to Diamonds that can be relied upon? Half the value of Diamond are the unofficial benefits, from what I can see (making it maybe the best of the OW programs, if you are based in HKG).

Agree with you, even though I am not based in HKG.
