Award ticket, but using MPC card at check-in
Hi,
Is the following doable:
Use BA Exec Club miles to get a ticket on a CX flight (CX metal). But, at check-in (or perhaps before), let CX know that I am also an MPC elite.
This is more for operational upgrades - could this be a factor? The route I am looking at is fairly well-travelled, and I have been op-uped a couple of times (due to MPC I presume), but always on a 'paying' ticket.
So, even if I were to travel on an award ticket, would knowing that I am also an MPC member help?
Thanks for any info on this...
Cheers!

Doesn't matter who issued the ticket, you may put in your highest tiered Oneworld elite (or MPC) programme in your booking for lounge access, and increase your chances of an op up. However CX revenue control will by pass op ups on 'award' codes when they do the sweep irrespective on what FF number is on file.
The 2nd sweep for op-up's come after check-in closes and they might need to move people up. Having a MPC elite membership increases your chances of an op-up but not always so. It would be best of course, if you hold DM level on MPC, then you override everyone else (except IN) for an op-up possibility. But I've seen IN and DM members get stuck in their original seats and one or two individually selected MPC members get the move forward sometimes.
Perhaps that's when CX differentiates who has the award and who has the revenue tickets.
