Limousine service for F-passengers?

Is Cathay offering a limousine service from downtown to the airport as Thai or Emirates to its F-class-passengers???

Except in London where, as I have just discovered, CX offers complimentary limo service on all published First & Business fares including Round The World Fares... (but not including award fares, except that paid business mileage-upgraded to first would qualify presumably).

From cxagents.com:

Code:
London Courtesy Limousine Service
	Last Update: 20Mar2006

1. The Service:
The limousine service is available for customers travelling on Cathay Pacific
Airways flights, departing and/or arriving at Heathrow Airport, within 40
road miles.

2. Eligibility:
The service is complimentary to customers holding the following tickets:

    * First Class Published & Round-the-world Fares.
    * Business Class Published & Round-the-world Fares.

3. Excess Mileage:
For clients who exceed the free mileage but wish to use the service by paying
the mileage excess, the rates are as follows:

    * GBP 2.20 per car/mile (for normal cars)
    * GBP 2.86 per car/mile (for people mover*)
    * "Burgundy Global Ltd", the limousine provider, will only accept
credit card as in-car payment, drivers do NOT accept cash or debit cards
e.g. Maestro/Switch.

4. How to Book the Limousine Service:

    * Via Email - [email protected]
    * Via Fax - 020 8741 5477 - To the Servicing Department
    * Via SSR Request - Enter SSR request giving full address and telephone
number for the client, and Corp. client if applicable

* People mover is like a space wagon and is ideal for 3 passengers (min) /
6 passengers (max) who wishes to travel together. Reservations should be made
at least 48 hours prior to departure.

*It is compulsory as legal requirement to all passengers traveling with
infants to bring their own car seats. "Burgundy Global Ltd", the limousine
provider, does not provide car seats.

Important Notice: There are surcharges of 100% on excess mileage on
25 December, 26 December and 01 January and surcharges of 50% on all other
public holidays.

Interesting. I frequently fly into LHR and have never heard of this, nor have I ever been offered this service. Is this publicized anywhere? Don't know why CX would try to keep it quiet.

From CX UK website

Eligible passengers must hold a published first class or business class ticket. A redemption ticket or any discounted fare is not eligible for this services.
Am not sure what "discounted fare" means.

The key is "published" vs. "discounted" in this context. So any fare that CX has published is eligible, while unpublished fares such as consolidator fares are not. For most of us any fare we can buy from CX would be eligible (including the OWE fares). Looks like VS is putting the heat on CX on the HKG route and this is their response (haven't checked VS pricing lately but their new Upper Class is quite a bit better than J on the competition (CX/QF/BA) on this route. Of course VS likes to price their J somewhere between J and F when they can get away with it.

So one could assume that an I class special fare purchased from the World Offers page on CX.com would qualify?

Must give them a ring and see if I can.

OK just rang and that would be a NO. Any net discounted fare would not be eligible for transfers. The agent said that the fares to SYD from LHR that get the 'free' transfers are around 4K GBP ++.

He said some I class qualify and some don't so you can't just rely on the booking class.

What about DONE4? Also does it have to be issued in UK?

As I read the above then all business and first RTW tickets (including the OW Explorer and Global Explorer) products should qualify. And no they do not have to be issued in the UK, or even, as far as I can tell, on CX ticket stock.

An amazingly generous offer by CX; BA LHR-HKG gets you the MB spa and a 10 minute massage (maybe, waitlists are often long), while CX on the same route gets you a limo worth circa GBP 90 (probably >10% of the DONEx revenue for that sector, to put the generosity into perspective).

But they have to originate from the UK and the outbound carrier is to be on CX. CX will not provide limo for you to take a BA flight out!

Limo only offered for tickets originating LHR. It doesn't have service if you bought ticket ex-HKG unless your TA has special deals with CX.

Do you have a source for those assertions? The extract above from the cxagents site accessed using the login of a HK-based TA doesn't mention those restrictions.

I think if any limousines requests have to go via the UK, then I would assume that this is going to be the case.
* Via Email - [email protected]
* Via Fax - 020 8741 5477 - To the Servicing Department
* Via SSR Request - Enter SSR request giving full address and telephone number for the client, and Corp. client if applicable
In any case, has any one tried?
