Enough time for a shower?

I am flying from LAX to HKG and then to BKK. LAX-HKG is on 883, arriving at 5:40AM. The flight to BKK departs at 8:55AM. Assuming 883 arrives on time, will I have enough time to get to the Wing or Pier and take a shower before departing on the next flight? Are the facilities usually crowded at that time? Any other options I should consider?

Thanks!

You'll have enough time even to visit cabana (I assume you are AA Executive Platinum) and take a bath (and eat fine breakfast at the restaurant in the lounge).

I just flew the very same flights that you will be flying(LAX - HKG - BKK) and you'll have more than enough time for bath/shower and even some shopping. Take note that the Pier will not be open when your flight arrive so the Wing is the only option.

Choose the Wing over the Pier

Yes, there will be plenty of time to shower, BUT check your CX flight into HKG. CX881 usually arrives at 5:40am (or close to 6am) BUT CX883 arrives later, around 7 or so. Maybe I am wrong, but as late as May 6, my CX883 arrived not at 5:40am (that arrival time was CX881's, which left earlier from LAX).

Choose the Wing over the Pier. If you choose the Wing, you can have more privacy at the Cabana. At the Pier, your Day Break Room and the shower room are separate. 100% of the time I flew in with either 881 or 883, never a problem, although 883 arrived later and you may see an increased traffic of people. 881 is the earliest arriving flight from the US, and usually no problem with that one.

The Wing is located around Gates 1-2, and the Pier around Gates 61-62. Since you have plenty of time (even to eat at either lounge), you can always go to the Wing and then later on walk to the boarding gate to BKK that is most likely closer to the Pier.

I flew on CX 883 on June 11 and it departed LAX at 23.55 and arrived on time at 05.40.

CX 881 depart at 01.55 and arrive at 07.40 which will mean that the transit time will only be aoubt 1 hour(figuring that you board the flight about 15 minutes before take off) since CX 713 depart at 08.55.

Also the Pier will not be open when CX 883 land so the Wing is the only choice.
