Name on Ticket Problem
I've just made a booking for my friend through CX.com and I didn't realised his name on the passport is different...so now the e-ticket has 1 name let say, James Chan ...and his passport has another eg. Chan Tai Man. And the name on the credit card he used to pay with the tik is also the same as the one in his passport.
will it cause any problem for him? or will CX be able to correct it?? |
Just change it at check-in, it should be fine. :)

Have you or your friend taken the trouble to call CX and ask them? If it were me, I would surely have the issue resolved long before I went to the airport.

Shouldn't be too much of a problem. My name on my passport is Chiu Wai Ng, and once my booking was made under "Thomas Ng". I did have the airline correct this before I travelled though...........

I wouldn't push my luck.
Especially if he's flying to USA... it's a big nah nah nah. Unless he carries a official document bearing both names and is able to convince them, but i'd say much better to just resolve it b4 going to airport. However, small erros like speeing Cheng instead of Cheung should be okay. |

I would try to contact CX as soon as you can to match the name of the passport just to be on the safe side. You want your trip to be as worry free as possible. Better be safe than sorry.
