Another trip report. CX in F is wonderful when it works, but the reality of life is that it doesn't work ALL the time. I did 4 long hauls in F (LAX-HKG-JNB) and 2 regional (HKG-SIN) in J. 4 of the flights ranged from very good to outstanding but 2 were disappointing for variety of reasons. Anyway, CX is still one of the best ways to see the world. The CX HKG lounges are above anything I've ever had a chance to experience at any airport.

Have a great trip!

How about meals, PJs, amenity kit and other goodies in J? Thanks

BUSINESS CLASS does not provide PJs of any sorts. The amenity kit is Biotherm, and I love the lipbalm in it. Meals are quite good, but service only decent. None of this is - of course - comparable with FIRST CLASS.

I flew CX in F several times during the first half of the year and the PJs were tan with burgundy accents. (Very nice and comfortable...wish there were at least one pocket, though.) Did this color scheme change mid-year?

Yah. I like the black with neon green trim ones better, in terms of colour anyway.

OK, I just wanted to clarify some things because obviously Chuck1's travels is not as extensive as mine, and his flights with CX FIRST CLASS less than mine.
Flying CX F Class is nothing, do you have enough cachet to fly CX F Class round-trip from HKG to LHR for HK$19,000 WITHOUT using mileage?

Amanjunkie,
Don't worry about these lame comments. Some people on this board just couldn't resist the temptation of showing off at every opportunity they can!

"obviously Chuck1's travels is not as extensive as mine, and his flights with CX FIRST CLASS less than mine"

Also Where can you get a 19,000HKG return F Class ticket? I am really interested to know!!

I know someone (not on FT) who flies from LHR to HKG on a monthly basis on full F bought directly from CX on ex-UK prices, and doesn't own a single FF card!
