I would have to say, who cares?? I certainly hope that CX is not going to go the way of the US airlines and let the staff run the show!!

I just had a look through Carfield's photos on the catering of CX on his flight from JFK-HKG. It confirmed my earlier experience this year to HKG:

1) Small portions
2) Food presentation = bad
3) the Quality = average (especially the Dim Sum and noodles)

Please take some time and have a look.

I can post some of my past pictures and the conparison is evident on the deterioration!

I usually don't eat on planes, even in J. When flying out of HK, I like to stop at the Popeye's for some fried chicken. That is what I did today, even though I got an op-up HKG-NRT (but Y wasn't completely full, so there is an upgrade fairy). However, for the cheese course they were serving this amazing Reblochon. I've never seen Reblochon served anywhere outside of very upscale restaurants, so that's what I had for dinner. Lots of it.

Absoultely right my dear Watson, now now, we do not want all Asian carriers to have the attitude of US airlines, after meal service lights out and all are hiding in the galley gossiping, and of course don't forget the "No congegating near the lavatories and aisles".
