Correct
Anyone expecting CX to be bigger or expand on 2019 prior to 2030 is dreaming.
CX has barely any planes on order for replacement let alone growth.

Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr says he still expects
Boeing to deliver the first 777-9 in 2025. Spohr made the comments after a telephone conversation with Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Stan Deal March 6. Spohr said Deal had reassured him that there will be no further delays.
In late 2013 three airlines - Lufthansa . Cathay Pacific. and Etihad were the first to order the jet. Boeings website clearly states that these are launch customers
The next orders placed were not until July 2014

FROM BOEING WEB SITE today -
"Boeing and Cathay Pacific Airways Announce Order for 21 777-9Xs

Dec 20 2013 "Cathay Pacific and Boeing share a long-term partnership that spans four decades," said Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner. "We are honoured to continue our tradition of launching new airplane models with Cathay Pacific

Correct information is _
Cathay has currently 63 aircraft on order as of 8th March 2024 with 5 already delivered in 2024

Yeah this guy is super cynical. Not to mention there is an order of approximately 40-50 widebodies impending.

Meh, I think we can throw whatever boeing said in 2013, 10 years ago, safely out the window. They also said the 777x would launch in 2020 look how that turned out.
anyways the test aircrafts are in emirates registration and the first Lufthansa registered (D-ABTA) and ANA (JA071A) are already out, im putting my money on Emirates being the launch customer instead. Even if we were to talk about launch customer for Asia only, I'm putting my money on ANA. Even SQ has production slots allocated before cathay.

Does cathay really need the 777x urgently? they seem to have a surplus of first class capacity nowadays. have they reinstated all their first class routes? and seeing how they're launching the new aria suites on the 77w first, i would assume they know they're not going to be getting the 777x anytime soon...i don see why they'd want to install a brand new cabin on an older aircraft if the 777x is indeed coming soon.
and seeing how the new halo suites will only be introduced with the 777x, id think they aren't in all that a rush with introducing the new first class either. as much as their new first class is highly anticipated, i think sadly its gonna still be a while.

Cathay Pacific will not be retrofitting 4-class 777-300ERs with Aria Suites because the 4-class 777-300ERs will be retired/scrapped/sold/return to lease and replaced with 777X from 2025, the Aria Suites will be installed on 17 of the 777-300ERs that is configured in 3-class configuration.

I totally disagree.

Many of the 777-300 ERs are young aircraft with some 23 being 10y.o or less. with 12 more being between 11 and 14 y.o.- for a large airline these are young aircraft given that these younger aircraft have only been used for 7 to about 10-11 years (or less) having been stored for close to 3 years they will not be scrapped or sold.

There are only 21 X 777-9X on order (and no more passenger A350s) and a very long lead time. CX needs a minimum of 50 x777 and probably .more going forward.

Its difficult to be precise but I would expect that only the 15 or so of the oldest of the aircraft to be moved on or scrapped

and BTW
CX has no surplus of B777-300 ER aircraft
There is only one remaining B777-300 ER parked at ASP.
It is a 4 class 16 y.o. that I understand is returning to the fleet this month

Are we to take it then - that you totally ignore and discount that that Cathay's CEO informed the stock market ,the media, shareholders and the HK government some 6 weeks ago that on current information from Boeing the first B777 9X aircraft would arrive at the
end of 2025 ?

Oh, no s***? where did you learn that (completely out of curiosity) the one in ASP has been there for quite a while? Thanks!

Cute
63 planes of which half the a321 will go to UO

6 are cargo.

Just 21 777x to barely replace the aging fleet let alone growth.

nope cant seem to find this statement on the internet, a link to the statement would be helpful to understand the context. why the obsession with cathay being the launch operator of the 777x despite all signs pointing otherwise?

CX is the launch customer. Not launch operator.
you place order doesn’t mean you will get the plane first. Further CX seem to have ask Boeing to delay the delivery during covid.

current production list are mostly EK.

Cathay Pacific will be getting the first 777X on 2026 because of the covid-19 pandemic which everything made it pushed pack.
