Are CX discontinuing First Class …

Hi
Just been looking at booking some flights early next year and CX don’t seem to be selling First on HND to HKG or JFK to HKG or LAX to HKG though they are operating 777W with First on …
I wondered if anyone could shed on light on this ?
Is it because they might be introducing new First Class cabins and don’t know when yet ?
I’ve not seen any announcements that they are not offering FC anymore on those routes ..
Thanks in advance for any light that might be shed !

From what I have just checked for March 2023 F product is still available from HND to HKG to LAX. JFK should be available Q2 I believe since a 77W will be operating. If you are looking at Q1/Q2 2025 maybe its just not loaded yet.

Cathay Pacific has been very slow in updated their future schedules, due to many issues that have been detailed here. They also have a smaller fleet for 777s with first class cabin now.
They only have just updated their summer schedules, so I will not worry too much about CX discontinuing first class.
Just be patient!

We know that several 77A (777-300ER with F) have left CX fleet, some might still be parked.
Do we know how many 77A are currently in operation with CX?

Hi
I”m just curious that on CX website flights are bookable next Jan and Feb but they are not selling any F for the most part -even when they are using their planes that are configured with F …. And yes I’m aware they have a much smaller fleet with F than they did . And as I said I’m also aware they have announced new F class cabins and that might well have a bearing. But yes I’m sure it change in due course !

Cathay Pacific will be installing Aria Suites on four-class 777s as well as three-class ones because the airline may not recieve 777Xs on 2025 because of the Boeing is very busy delivering 777Xs to other airlines, probably 2026 or 2027 at the earliest.

No 777x have been delivered to any airline to date.
CX is a launch customer and will be the first or second airline to receive the 777X which is still advised as being late 2025 delivery for Cathay.
Over 4 years late !

The 777X will be entering service in 2025, CX will not be the launch customer for the 777X and CX will be delivering the 777Xs from 2026.

There are also four dry leased to QR, I came across them recently when scheduling DOH-BKK on the QR828/829 rotation in mid April.

That Is not correct as according to a statement in January by Cathay CEO the airline is expecting first delivery late 2025.
Boeing on their website quote Cathay as A launch customer - per my above post.

They are not Cathay aircraft any longer -they were returned to the leaser over a year ago. They were then re leased to QR
I have read though that the cabins are still in Cathay fit out

A total of 48 X 777s are in service - 6 are parked plus one damaged aircraft (B-HNW now 22 y.o) is stored at CTS and unlikely to re-join the active fleet

Only one 777-300 with first is still long term parked at ASP Reg B -KQW
Three are undergoing maintenance at XMN and one B-KQV seemingly in Hong Kong

I'm not sure if all of these are parked. Some should be undergoing maintenance while there is one that has been parked in HKG for quite some time, which might be being retrofitted.

info from aviation.flights seems like cathay has not gotten slots on the production line for the first dozen + 777X. first few slots going to emirates, ANA lufthansa, qatar. and didnt cathay request to defer deliveries of the 777x during the covid period too?

Cathay Pacific's 777-9X will be delivered by at least 2026 or 2027 at the earliest because Boeing will deliver the earlier 777Xs to other airlines at 2025.
