March 2024
Cathay Pacific Business Class
CX 536 Hong Kong to Nagoya 9:45am departure

[Basically a pathetic breakfast offering that lacks quality and quantity, and CX needs to do better. I personally will avoid CX’s breakfast flights on all regional flights in near future.]

Breakfast served shortly after takeoff

To Start

Seasonal fresh fruit
Fruit Yogurt
Assorted Cereals

Mains
Mushroom omelette

[New Pandan Raisin roll and the F/A, Joseph, recommended it! He was right! It was delicious and not overly sweet like a typical cinnamon roll.]

At least there is a Japanese style main with rice, already better than even shorter regional routes like BKK which only have 2 choices.

I agree after having to decide between a disappointing dim sum and Japanese chicken main from HKG to NRT last week.

On the HKG-BKK flight last night however, I had one of the best dishes I've had on CX so far. The beef rendang was tender and meaty unlike most of the fatty beef cheek dishes we're accustomed to inflight. Perfect with the fragrant coconut rice.

Nasi lemak is usually a dish we eat in the morning in Singapore and Malaysia

Am hoping CX will rotate this dish into the regional breakfast options. Gives us a reason to wake up early for the BKK to HKG 8am run!

Does CX have a "book the cook" feature like on sq/br where a pax can preorder standard meals not shown on the inflight menu?

Not referring to the lowfat/vegetarian/halal type menus.

Tks

You can pre-order your main for all long haul flights in Manage booking but the meals are the same as those shown in inflight menu. There are no "hidden" meals.

Yes, it’s more like American Airlines where you simply get the chance to guarantee your main than SQ where you get a whole bunch of additional meals that you can chose from.

CDG -HKG

The burger was a snack. The congee was my partner’s. They’d run out by the time I ordered so had the “wellness” option which was surprisingly tasty.

Good service and food throughout the flight.

Halibut. 1pm flight. Not as flavourful as it looks, but not bad.

HKG to ICN
morning flight so breakfast was served.
Fruit plate with bread choices.
The croissant was too dry
Fruit plate plating looked real sad. Lol

Had the dimsum selection which was ok.
Most people seemed to also order the dimsum.
