Potential for status extension?

How likely is it that CX will offer some sort of free status extension or give out some extra status points for 2023 since they are still not operating at full capacity? Debating whether or not to start a membership holiday as I have no upcoming flights for just less than a year but would like to keep my status active next year.

Unfortunately, I do not see any indication that they will. I'm seeing HK-based DMs are back to flying and most of them I feel will hit 1200 before the year ends. It's different with outport members like myself, connections are still limited leading to losing 1 day just to travel to Asian cities from Manila. Last week I did MNL-HKG-SIN, I only had a 60 minute transit and luckily the 8AM flight out of Manila wasn't delayed (which is a miracle) which allowed me to catch my HKG-SIN flight, if not I would have to spend almost the entire day and connect on the 5 PM to Singapore. I've been looking for flights to TPE/BKK/TYO and since they don't have flights leaving around 11am-2pm, the earliest flight I could get on would be mid-afternoon and arrive evening in those cities.

I renewed DM in 5 months this year (though with the help of the bonus points they gave us last year). I doubt they need to keep extending status in a wholesale way as they have done for the last three years.

Does one still need to fly a minimum segment(s) per year on CX in order to retain status? I am under the impression that we need at least one but cannot find this info on CX website anymore.
I am a US based Diamond and I'm finalizing my travels for the rest of 2023, I will likely reach more than 1200 status points but has not flown on any CX segment yet.

Yes, I am pretty sure I have read it somewhere that you would need at least one CX sector to maintain your membership.

It's here: https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...us-points.html

Membership status qualifications
The table below indicates the number of Status Points required to renew or upgrade a membership status within a membership year. In addition to these points, the member must fly at least one eligible sector on Cathay Pacific.
