Trip.com and Cathay Fare Codes?
Has anyone here used Trip.com to book CX fares? Is this a reliable company? I notice that it's generally cheaper than booking direct from CX. However, I don't see any fare codes. I want to know what my accrual rate will be when credited to my BAEC account. Advice?

On Trip.com when booking there is a frequent flyer programme box which lists all the options to credit for each airline and then a second box to enter the number just before clicking to pay.
So when booking a CX ticket you get all the reciprical programmes listed. So far I have never had a problem though as one poster notes above you do not get to see which fare class. If booking lowest price I just assume the lowest fare class, if you book more expensive tickets then it is likely higher fare buckets. I do not know if this works but it is an idea, perhaps correlate the baggage allowance with the CX category and how flexible the tickets are.

After booking on Trip.com, will I be able to see the fare code on CX's website?

Hi
i think fare code P on cathay Pacific earns nothing on BAEC
there is a thread on the baec forum as P is more expensive than I ( both are business class fares) yet earns nothing on BAEC ( but the cheaper I class fare does)
Regards

Does anyone know if economy light gets booked into fare class O?
I am trying to see the flight availability on expertflyer for HKG-YYZ in September 2023. Most days show this J9 C9 D7 P0 I0 W9 R5 E0 Y9 B9 H9 K0 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O2
Does that mean there is not much economy class availability left? Or is CX just blocking cheaper fare class / redemption availability?

P class was introduced a couple of years ago. I guess CX simply forgot to tell BA about it, and the system was never updated to reflect that.
Economy-O class is not listed, and obviously the award redemption booking classes.
Economy light may be booked in any fare classes. CX fare family is independent of fare class. Each fare class has different fare levels depending on how much extra you want to pay.
