Partner Reward Availability on CX
Does anyone know why the oneworld partner rewards may not show on CX website?
For example AKL-DOH in J 17 May 2024 or any dates around then. Plenty of availability showing on AA website for QR and MH flights, but nothing showing on CX.
New to asia miles, is this normal?

I recall talking to an executive from a OneWorld airline (sorry cannot mention names) about variations in inventory, and he said the airlines don't necessarily make the same inventory available to all their partners, so looking at a partner should be considered indicative

Oneworld says its members have agreed to make reward seats equally available—if one carrier offers the seats, all must offer them. The alliance hopes that can be a "competitive advantage," said spokesman Michael Blunt.

And we have always been at war with Eastasia! Rumor: MPC will go way of PPS
Yes I read the quote, however caveats and exceptions also come into play, plus the various airline systems do not always 'talk' to each other. JAL's can almost be described as zenophobic.

To return to the original question:
1. It is often the case that award availability varies according to the partner FFP. As an example, CX tends to offer F/J CA availability to its MPC members first, then release to other FFPS if not picked up with a few days/weeks.
2. AVailability can be partner dependant. For example, QR F/J availability could be there for some partners but not for others. Also, there might be phantom availability. QR has two levels of awards, standard and x2 (meaning twice as many miles). Some airline IT might pick up the x2 awards while these are not bookable as standard award. QR has special agreements with BA and AA, not CX.
3. Even for its own members QR has been quite stingy for J/F award lately. Their yield management seems to cut availability for long periods of time (e.g. summer) and then reinstate it.
