Delayed by 7 hours

Hi all,

Arrived from an osaka flight earlier today and in HK visiting family and I've just got the cancellation/rebook email for my flight leaving at 23.05 tonight.

What are my options? Is it worth heading back to the airport?

Are cathay obliged to put me up on a hotel for the night? Can they book me on another airline?

TIA

WHich flight is delayed? If your flight is delayed to 23:05, why do you need a hotel room?

Unless you volunteer more information, it is hard to help you.
Is it on a single ticket with just a brief layover in HK that you use to visit family? Which final destination?

CX is "obliged" to nothing by HK laws. But that also depends on the destination. If you were flying FROM EU/UK you would be entitled to a few benefits/compensation even on a "foreign" airline, but not on the way to EU/UK.

It never hurts to ask for free hotel. CX sometimes do. Although you will have to checkout the hotel around 3am or so.

I don't see any flights departing tonight that's delayed 7 hours? If departing at 11:05pm tonight, there's CX255 which is delayed 30 minutes but will arrive on time.

Sorry guys

It's the flight CX255 scheduled to depart at 23.05

But I've got an email that it's been rescheduled to 06.10 tomorrow. There's nothing I can do in the my booking section at the moment

Hi Bruno

It's a stop over in HK. My original itinerary was LHR-HKG-KIX

And I was doing the return leg

I believe it is scheduled to arrive LHR at 6:10am tomorrow, not departing at 6:10am from HKG tomorrow. Check carefully.

Indeed, CX255 is announced with a delay of 30 min, departure at 23:35, which is usual. And expected arrival at 6:10.

You probably misread the email.
Get to the airport around 21:00.
