Was the SFO-SLC sector booked as an CX code-share flight operated by AS? If so, DM lounge membership benefit applies in CX's own lounge, so DM + 2 guests indeed have access. Otherwise, maybe the agent granted access as an exception because AS was also using CX lounge for some time before COVID-19 for its own lounge members.

Dear CX Experts,
May i know if here is allow to post the flying & lounge experience ? I've got 4 legs TPE-HKG-CGK round trip last time. Experience A350-1000 & A330-300 2 types of aircrafts and business class seats. Very lucky, i also experience the wing & the pier first class lounge / all CX business class lounge and Qanta Hong Kong Lounge in HKG. Hope it is allow here for me to show my own review video ? |
Arrived at lunchtime ahead of the afternoon departure to Hong Kong and wow. The J lounge is absolutely terrible. The Eames style chairs are nice, the apron view is ok and there are only five people in here, that’s all the good things I have to say for it. Poor drinks and really bad food selection. I’m off to the Sakura… it has its critics but it’s way better than this!

Just a bad day for both yourself and the lounge perhaps. dsflynn also published a positive review of the lounge on another forum. |

Generally the lounges there are poor standard and always have been compared to other airports.
|
The lounge is quite spacious but not many people on a weekday afternoon. Food is okay and pretty standard.

I don't believe I ever went into the CX lounge at NRT, but I use the one at HND a lot and personally like it better than the JL F lounge (with the exception of the JALs Salon whiskey). It's been a little while since I've done a OW departure from NRT so am not up on post-pandemic standards there. Last time I didn't have a ton of time so just went to JL F, but I don't think CX and QF were reopened yet then and the AA lounge has never been anything special (is it even still there?)

This is a little unexpected as many others have highly praised the lounge, its outlook, style and F&B. There are some images of the food offerings and recent Youtube posts where the food looks rather enticing. I couldn't find online anything that was critical of the lounge or its food offerings. My wife and her 'girlfriends' were in the lounge on they back to HK a few days back at about the same time and liked both the food and the lounge (and the champagne. I suspect)
