Will be there next Monday. Will let you know soon.
Furryracoon beat me by a few hours 🤣 so I'm not posting photos... except the entrance to shower stalls as shown. I didn't use the shower so can't tell how it looks inside. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2fc77177bc.jpg |

At least better food? Will there be a noodle bar?
2. No. |
IIRC, the old AA lounge has shower facilities, are they still being kept by CX at this moment?

Access during transit to non-CX?
Just want to share my interesting transit experience. As a CX GOLD, I took business class on CX526 from HKG to NRT then I connected on AC10 from NRT to YYZ.
Upon arriving into NRT, I was surprised that I was allowed into the CX lounge in NRT. Is this a standard offering at CX? Is this because I am CX Gold or because I flew business? On a side note, while the food offering was utilitarian, there was an amazing coffee machine that made excellent hot and cold matcha latte. Haagen Daaz ice cream was also offered. Also, the showers are ALWAYS available.... I should have used the showers at the CX lounge because the wait at NH lounge was 60 minutes and longer.... There is no way I could have made it to my flight if I waited for the NH showers.... |

There are several posts on other sites saying that even the JAL food at NRT is poor - even the Japanese food. Is the expectation of air lounge food low at airport lounges ln Japan ?

Don't know about NRT, but in my experience HND's lounges (well, at least JAL, ANA and CX) do very well in the food department.

cant say for J lounge but F lounge food offering NRT or HND has been top notch.

No, you are not supposed to be granted access. The lounge receptionist made a mistake to let you in. Alternatively, I wonder if by chance CX retained some of the employees who used to work for the AA club (which used the same space). Unlikely in my opinion, but if that is the case, the receptionist may have confused himself because AA policy would allow eligible pax arriving on an AA flight to enter an AA club.

Actually in my memory, my companions and I were also granted access to SFO CX lounge when we flew business class from HKG-SFO and then transit to economy from SFO-SLC on Alaska. This happened before Alaska joined Oneworld and there was a CX Diamond member within the travel group. Was that also an error? Or is there some unspoken lounge access rules?
